American College of Surgeons (ACS)

Dr. Rabkin is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a scientific and educational association of surgeons that was founded in 1913 to improve the quality of care for the surgical patient by setting high standards for surgical education and practice.

The American Board of Surgery (ABS)

Dr. Rabkin is a diplomate of The American Board of Surgery, an independent, non-profit organization that certifies surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge. Surgeons certified by the ABS, known as diplomates, have completed a minimum of five years of surgical residency training following medical school and successfully completed a written and oral examination process administered by the ABS.

The American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery

Dr. Rabkin is a member of The American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery. The vision of this Society is to improve public health and well-being by lessening the burden of the disease of obesity and related diseases throughout the world. The purpose of the society is to advance the art and science of bariatric surgery by continued encouragement of its members to improve the care and treatment of people with obesity and related diseases, to foster communication between health professionals on obesity and related conditions, and to advocate for health care policy that ensures patient access to high quality prevention and treatment of obesity. The ASMBS is the largest society for this specialty in the world.
