Patient Testimonials

Colleen G.

I have battled my weight all my life, losing the battle every time and gaining more weight. I was to the point where I could hardly walk. I was a heavy equipment operator, struggling to do my job, for it was hard to get up and down on the equipment. I had to do something, fast.

I looked into all the different weight loss surgeries. I called PacLap and made my first appointment. I met everyone, heard all about the surgery, went home and set my next appointment.

Colleen, Before Weight Loss Surgery Colleen, After Weight Loss Surgery

I didn't wait for insurance because I didn't feel I had time to fight. I was 447 pounds and 5'8" tall and my health and my life were at stake.

Six years later, I am 168 pounds and I feel GREAT. I love my new body and I can do so many things now. I've walked in the Bay to Breakers in San Francisco, Walk from Obesity; I go dancing; I fit in all the rides at Disneyland and can do so many more things than ever before.

I can't say anything bad about the surgery except that I didn't like drinking the Fleet before surgery or the blue stuff after surgery to check for leaks. But if I were called tomorrow and was told I had to do it again, I would say "what time do you need me?"

I wish I had known about this surgery years ago for I would have been the first in line for it.

I did also have a full body lift to remove all my extra skin. Before surgery I was always in very baggy clothes and flat shoes. Now I am always in high heels and clothes that show off my new body. I now love to go shopping for clothes and I never worry if they are going to have something that will fit me. I know I can find something in any store I go in. I went from a size 6X to 7 or 8.

I am smiling every day. As I walk by people I no longer look down and wait to hear someone say something bad or laugh at me. I hold my head up, smile and say hello.

I run the support group in Sacramento. I strongly believe the support group helps keeps you on track and around people who know what you have been through. When you are having a hard time your support group is there for you!
